About Dr. Traci Scheepstra

Hey There!

I'm Dr. Traci.

An educator, researcher, writer, and coach with an unwavering commitment to helping you thrive in all areas of your life.

I love being with people to converse and connect

As an extrovert who’s intuitive and feeling by nature, I tend to lead with my heart and light up in the company of others. While I can do small talk with pretty much anyone (on any topic), I’m really about long lasting relationships. Whether it’s family or friends – if trust, respect, and love is reciprocal – I’m all in!

Seeking deeper meaning in all things, and believing that anything in life is possible, is my jam. It’s like fuel to an engine. It’s what keeps me going day after day. In my younger years, when I would be called an idealist (more times than I can count), it would ignite shame. Now, I see it as my superpower. I like to think of myself as an eternal optimist.

I have an insatiable curiosity (I was the kid who always asked, “But, why?”) and I love to learn. My favourite subject? People. With personal growth as a very close second! It’s no wonder I chose ethnography during my days as a doctoral candidate in education. Studying people within their cultural contexts was captivating and life changing for me.

Truth be told, I’m fascinated by the stories people tell about their lives and I find it a great honour to hold space for their sharing. Whether as a researcher, coach, or acquaintance, I’ve often found myself privy to very personal stories, sometimes spoken aloud for the first time. It can take vulnerability and trust to open up. I always show up by listening.

There is something transformative that happens when stories are exchanged between individuals from admiration and empathy, to understanding and acceptance. Stories stoke our emotions like a flame to kindling as we often see aspects of ourselves in others.

I’ve spent three decades working with individuals and diverse groups of people to help them learn, grow, and flourish both in and out of the classroom. Many of those years were also spent in therapy focusing on my own healing and personal growth. I knew intuitively that to be my best for others, I had to first be the best for me.

Those years taught me a lot about myself and others. While I’m still a work in progress (Helloooo!! Aren’t we all?) getting to midlife has afforded me some pretty awesome insights.

For one, I learned that people of all ages need to be met where they are so they feel seen and heard. How they best learn, what they know or don’t know, their cultural background and lived experiences, the way they view the world, and so forth, is their unique blueprint. I can only support and inspire others when I am able to see them fully for who they are.

I’ve also learned many lessons about love over the years. I believe that when you know you are loved, and feel a sense of belonging in your life, you have purpose and meaning.

Every individual is worthy of love and belonging.
Not some of us. ALL of us.

Some days I ask myself, “How did I get here?”

How is it possible I’ve been with my husband for over thirty years with two grown children and grandchildren? How did I get to be in my fifties? It seemed sooooooo old when I was in my twenties but in reality it’s just a number. I’m still me. Albeit, a blissfully happier, deeply grateful, and wiser version of me.

I can still see the talkative redheaded girl in pigtails who desperately wanted to be seen. She held a secret of being sexually abused that even she couldn’t remember until she was twelve due to the trauma. I remember the teenager who was the last of her peers to get her period, who felt angry and awkward, and walked around with a giant chip on her shoulder.

I remember the woman in her twenties who thought she knew it all and the same person who was humbled in her thirties by the realization that she knew very little. This was the same woman who struggled for years with perfectionism and bulimia until she bloomed in her forties. She finally healed much of her past and learned to love and accept herself.

Most days I’m in awe of this life. My life. I look back at the years and think, “Wow, how did I get through that?” I also think, “I am truly blessed.”

This brings me to you!

I’m here to be of service. I bring my whole, authentic, and loving self to everything I do when working with heart centred individuals like you. I’m committed to providing exceptional services and experiences through one on one coaching, reflective tools, online workshops and masterclasses, and so much more. There is something for everyone and every budget including a ton of free content.

My hope is that theLOVEproject365 feels like a warm hug. I’m committed to making it a place where you can get inspired, feel supported, connect with others in a similar season of life, and know you’re part of something special.

I promise to keep it real. I’m done with perfectionism. I have absolutely no inclination to create an online facade that doesn’t reflect my true self and the life I live. With that said, I prefer to keep politics aside and I’ll never tell stories that aren’t mine to share.

If you’ve read all the way to the end of this page, I thank you. If we don’t know each other already, I hope this is the beginning of a new relationship. I can’t wait to be acquainted.

With love,

Traci xo
