It was the year 2016, in the midst of the presidential primaries in the United States. The only thing that seemed to be on everyone’s mind was the election. The political divide that ensued was like nothing I’d witnessed before in my lifetime. Little did I know that was merely a dress rehearsal for pandemic politics starting in 2020.
I decided that on my birthday July 24, 2016, I would focus on the concept of love through writing and photography. Ultimately, I wanted to put a little positivity out in the world. I completed one post every day for 365 days which I shared on various social media platforms and on my website.
Making a commitment to write every day for 365 days was the easy part. The hard part was doing it. On days when I had nothing to say, something spectacular was written. On the days when I didn’t want to write, I pushed through due to commitment to myself.
Never had I lived in such a conscious way from which love, gratitude, and appreciation could grow exponentially.
While the project officially ended on my birthday in 2017, I continued to write new content for another six months. However, during that time I moved to a new city, my dad passed away from cancer, and I was desperate to finish my PhD. Something had to give. I stopped.
For five years theLOVEproject365 whispered my name. It asked me to revive what I started, but with a new vision.
I knew I would answer the call when the time felt right.
Here I am!
I love the meaning of numbers and the role they play in my life. The spiritual significance of numbers goes back to ancient times which has evolved into a system of numerology.
Therefore, I have found great meaning in the numbers associated with theLOVEproject365.
While 7/24 is my birthday (July 24), it also signifies time (24 hours in a day and 7 days in a week). The number 365 represents a year. Altogether, they represent cycles that we live by.
Our earthly reality is tracked by seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, and years. Yet, we can also transcend time and experience life through the cycles of the natural world.
There is much to be learned from the rising and setting of the sun, waxing and waning of the moon, ebb and flow of the ocean tides, and the rhythmic flow of the seasons.
7/24/365 serves as a personal reminder of my human existence and spiritual essence. It is my awareness of the interconnectedness of all things. It is my belief that we are one in love.
